D.C. police arrest man for attempted child sexual abuse at a Northeast daycare center

Authorities arrested a 20-year-old man Thursday on charges he attempted to sexually abuse a boy at a Northeast Washington daycare center last week, officials said.

The Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Randolph King, of Landover, about 12:40 p.m. on an arrest warrant for attempted first degree child sex abuse, D.C. police said in a statement.

D.C. police detectives investigated an allegation that King was seen by a staffer attempting to sexually abuse a sleeping three year-old boy on April 10 at a church daycare center in the 1200 block of Kenilworth Avenue.

The staffer told police she saw King standing over the boy’s cot and the child’s pants were pulled down around his knees, according to police reports. She yelled and King allegedly jumped up and pulled up the boy’s pants, police reports said.
