Video: Demi Lovato Mobbed by Fans on Stage

demi-lovato-performing-live-y100-jingle-ball-2011-12 Demi Lovato had to escape the stage for a minute when a number of fans came pouring in to her direction. The singer-actress miscounted her devotees' eagerness to see their idol by inviting the audience at her Paraguay concert to come closer to the stage.

From the edge of the stage, Lovato pointed to some of her fans to come on up but then the crowd got wilder as they all move forward. The 19-year-old singer had to calm them down, shouting "You guys gotta be safe though."

Without her knowledge, a female fan managed to get up on the stage and grab her from the side. As the bodyguards tried to separate them, other fans began to ascend the stage and mob her. Lovato ran to the backstage after the able-bodied men successfully freed her. She returned a minute later when the situation was restored and sang her next number.

After completing the South America tour, Lovato will head on to the north and kick off a summer tour on June 12 in California. She is expected to bring Hot Chelle Rae and Owl City as supporting acts.
